Thermo Fisher Scientific intends to open a new manufacturing facility in suburban Nashville that will create more than 1,400 jobs, according to the firm and state officials.

More than $100 million will be invested in a bioprocess container and fluid transfer assembly manufacturing plant in Lebanon, Tennessee, which will be utilized by biopharmaceutical businesses worldwide to develop and produce vaccines and treatments.

Initially, 400 jobs will be created, but that number will rise to 1,000 “over the next several years.” This includes duties in production and assembly as well as packaging, as well as administrative and engineering professions in supply chain management and quality assurance.

Thermo Fisher also provides pharmaceutical and biotechnology goods to hospitals, clinical diagnostics labs, universities, research institutes, and government organizations in addition to serving the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. More than $30 billion in annual revenue is reported by the corporation.
